Speeding in built up areas

The frequency of speeding on our local roads has long been an issue.

Unfortunately those responsible for highways will not take any action to slow vehicles down unless there is a record of incidents on the road, which usually means accidents.

ACER has requested the loan of a portable speed camera system to provide the evidence needed to force vehicles to slow down before there is an accident. This will involve police training local ACER volunteers to operate the cameras and record the evidence.
